Butterfly Cupcakes

Butterflies are very beautiful toppers on cupcakes.  Many of them are intricate and time-consuming to make out of gum paste or fondant.  I found a template for making butterfly outlines out of chocolate....very simple & elegant.  I printed out the butterfly templates & put them under wax paper, then traced them with Wilton candy melts.  The candy melts come in many colors and you can also tint the white ones with gel icing colors (be careful not to seize the chocolate).
