Freezing Cupcake Batter

Freezing cupcakes for consumption at a later date is pretty common....but freezing unbaked cupcakes?  I have kept cupcake batter in the refrigerator for several days and it turned out just as nice as freshly-made batter, but I was delighted to learn about these freezing techniques.
