Epiphany (the Twelfth Day of Christmas)

Epiphany is the climax of the Advent/Christmas Season and the Twelve Days of Christmas, which are usually counted from the evening of December 25th until the morning of January 6th. The twelve days of Christmas end with the Feast of Epiphany on January 6. It is known as the day of the Three Kings (wise men/magi) - Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar. On the night Christ was born, these three kings saw a bright star, followed it to Bethlehem and presented Him with gold, frankincense and myrrh.

We three kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar,
Field and fountain moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.

Born a King on Bethlehem's plain;
Gold I bring to crown Him again.
King forever, ceasing never,
Over us all to reign.
